You can now order your own copy of Home Fires of the Great War from Light of Faith.

I sold the first copy of my book! Well, technically Light of Faith
did, but it was exciting to have one sold at a home school conference in
St. Louis. You can check what other conferences Light of Faith will be
at on their web site.

I'll keep you posted with more updates on how things are going.

You can now order my book from Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Since Jimmy is gone to a conference right now, you will have to wait to order it from Light of Faith. If you want the book signed you can, 1. order it from Amazon or Barnes & Noble and connect with me sometime to sign it or 2. wait to order it from Light of Faith or 3. wait until you see me in person and buy one that way.:) There might be other places that are now carrying my book, but I'm not sure were. If you know of any other place, let me know. I have heard that a few people want this book in libraries closet to them. If that is what you want, you should make a request with your library. Home Fires of the Great War will be going to the Library of Congress! If you order from Barnes & Noble (which is the cheapest place right now by the way) and you order through Shop at Home, you get 6% cash back.

Yes, that is right! My preview copies (free ones from the publisher) just arrived in the mail this afternoon!!! If you thought you heard a scream, it was probably me. Sorry if I disturbed you.:) I can't believe they came so quickly! Wow! I was hoping to get them by my birthday in late April. I guess God wanted to give me an early birthday present.:) It is so unreal to see my name on a published book! This is actually a book! Six years of research, writing, re-writing, frustration, tears, excitement, laughter and now finally, it is here!

For some reason, we didn't get a picture taken of the back of the book. Maybe I'll get that up later. For now, here are some other pictures. And, I'll let you know as soon as you can place your order. (I don't know for sure how much the book is going to cost.:})

Start the Presses!

Important message just arrived from my publishing house:

Home Fires of the Great War has just gone to press!

That's right! Only two weeks after I submitted all the files to Xulon, my book is at press! They said it could take 1-3 weeks to get it printed and then I have to wait until I get my free books before I order any. But, it's gone to press! Wow! Talk about fast service!

This is going to be one large book! I knew it would be big, but if I had realized just how big it would be, I would have specified a smaller font size.:) Mom doesn't care. She said it would be easier to read this way. I got the text galley yesterday and boy, does it look neat! I love the layout, and how it all looks! I hope you all do too. The pictures in the book add a great touch, and there is a "family list" at the beginning as well as a glossary of Scottish words at the end for those of you wondering what in the world some people said.:) I can't wait to make my book available to each of you.

I'm now waiting for the back of the book to be sent to me for approval as well as the text galleys. Wow! It is actually getting published!

45 Days and Counting . . .

My book is in Production!

Yep, found out today! And since I paid for rush, it should be 45 days until it is done. However, I have to wait until I receive my free copies before I place any order. So you'll have to wait just a few more days. But, I'll tell you as soon as they can be purchased from Light of Faith, Amazon or me (or several other places). I can hardly believe it is actually being made ready for printing right now! After 6+ years of work and waiting, it is hard to believe. If someone had ever told me when I was in school that I would someday write a novel and get it published, I would have laughed. I hated writing! Now I can't do without it.:)

I'll let you know when I see the galley proofs, the back and the cover!!!!!:)

Waiting

I'm still waiting to hear that my book has been moved to "Publication." No news yet. I'm hoping to get my book by my birthday (wouldn't that be a fun birthday present), but don't know if it will happen. Waiting, waiting. Does anyone else get tired of waiting? I know I do. I just hurry up and wait.:}
But, when I do hear something about my book, I'll let you know, okay?
